Thierry Poncelet paints dogs and cats in classic human poses.
Poncelet’s paintings are beautiful homages to 18th and 19th century aristocratic potraits. Simple and comical on the surface, the paintings are actually detailed masterpieces. No dogs playing poker here.
Poncelet’s site has a gallery of his dog and cat portraits along with some background on the Belgian now painting in Monaco. More images of Poncelet’s work can be found at The Pampered Pet Inn.

This kinda reminds me of Pets in Uniform, but they are simple photoshops and much creepier.
Haha! I love how he chooses the perfect breed of dog to be put as the head for one particular human pose. It fits well. I’m just curious about the origin of those human bodies. Is there any story behind each of these photos?
Gld you enjoyed it. I’m not sure if they mimic specific paintings from the past or just the style of them.
